Skara Brae Homestead is a small family run farm located in Fauquier County, Virginia.  Following in the path of our name sake, we promote naturally grown heirloom produce, pasture raised heritage breed livestock, and self-sufficient, environmentally friendly agricultural practices. 

By direct marketing our products to the consumer, our customers are given the opportunity to learn where their food comes from, how it was raised, and participate in the process.  The food is fresher and more nutritional since there is typically less than a 24 hour turnaround from farm to plate.  Support of local agriculture boosts the local economy and uses less fossil fuel since there is no shipping.

We have moved to our new farm, but there is tons of work (much more than we realized) to do before the butterfly farm is fully open for business.  Thus, there will be limited availability until 2011.
